Thailand secures its gemstone hub
The 57th Bangkok Gems and Jewelry is officially launched today, February 24, 2016 welcoming well-qualified traders worldwide to enjoy duty free privilege while trading at the fair from February 24-28 at the IMPACT Challenger. The opening ceremony is conducted by Mrs. Chantira Jimreivat Vivatrat, Deputy Director – General of the Department of International Trade Promotion, Ministry of Commerce, Mr. Somchai Phornchindarak, President of The GJPCT, Mr. Suttipong Damrongsakul, President of the Thai Gem and Jewelry Traders Association, along with other distinguished guests. With this year’s theme “Thailand’s ruby capital of the world,” the country is regarded as the center of gems and jewelry in ASEAN, boasting largest and finest artisans and craftsmanship.
