IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd Human Resources Department leverages artificial technologies to improve its human resources processes as well as analyze and enhance employee performance

Director of the Corporate Human Resources Department Thamita Chongswatvorakul says “We are living in an era of exponential change where anything can become a thing of the past in just a minute. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has helped businesses improve efficiency, augment human activities and experiences, and reduce the time required to complete tasks. We realize the essence of having the right tools to do the job and how human touch still has its place in the work environment. Any company leveraging AI systems in combination with the ability to make employees feel engaged, motivated, and valued – which is a form of touch – stands a higher chance of outdoing other competitors. We also see the benefits of combining the best of both world together that will improve the overall performance of the company. Our HR innovation team has blended “Digital Knowledge,” globally known as “Artificial Intelligence” with “People Skill,” which universally refers to “Human Touch.” The two newly created programs together with the help of technologies will enable employees to acquire new skills and knowledge.

IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd, or IMPACT for short, pivots to a global HR strategy to reinvigorate goals for the future as well as optimize the efficiency, effectiveness, and performance of the HR department. The new HR vision “Modern – Beyond – Right Place for Talent – Chosen Employer (MBRC,) will enable employees to reach their full potential.

“Modern HR” uses technology to transform HR practices. Since each industry has its own unique characteristics, and the business events industry significantly builds human connections via conventions, exhibitions, meetings, and events, a good balance between leveraging the AI advantages and maintaining a human interaction is crucial for fostering workplace relationships and creating a warm and inviting customer experience.

We would admit that technology brings huge benefits to organizations of all sizes. Our HR Tech and HR Data Analytic team creates a new software and digital tools to gather, analyze, and report data to drive business results as well as streamline HR process and improve efficiency along with other applications such as e-learning training programs, Learning Hub, IMPACT Keep Me, and check-in and check-out system.

To stay competitive in the rapidly changing era, the HR department is moving forward to a full digital transformation. Employees find it useful to have one application that can take care of all their needs including signing up for an e-learning course, receiving consistent updates and timely communication, and swapping working days. Thanks to the implementation of a newly introduced “AI Recruitment & Performance Management System” that our HR team implemented. A decision to transform and implement this new software system stems from an expectation of setting up a single point of contact where can handle employee specific tasks under a single entity.

“B-Beyond HR” is designed to serve as a motivational tool to encourage employees to reach their career goals, provide guidance and solutions, and promote career growth via training programs, internships, and projects that create a positive employee experience. “R-Right Place for Talent” attracts and retains talent, and last but not least “C-Chosen Employer” simply means we are the company where everyone wants to work for.

“Now it is a great opportunity for staff to upskill and reskill the knowledge and strategies to foster personal growth. We constantly promote skills development and invest much time and energy in innovations, creative ideas, and new technologies to not only enhance employee performance but stay current with the changing employment trends. “IMPACT Keep Me” application has been created out of R2i project – routine to innovation – that lets employees exhibit creativity and innovation freely. R2i project, initially launched in 2018, is designed to stimulate employee creativity as well as innovative ideas, serving as a stage for staff to present their innovations,” explained Thamita, HR director.

She added that the HR department recently launched a new project for the first time called “Muang Thong Hackathon” that enabled college students to share their experience of living in Muang Thong Thani along with new ideas to foster the community, solutions to solve community problems, and sustainable innovations to drive community growth. The project drew in 72 college student teams out of 30 universities in metropolitan areas. In May 2024, we announced the winner of the Muang Thong Hackathon project, and this year’s Innovation Award winner was “Teletubbies,” a group of student from King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, who came up with “CuddleCam: CCTV security project,” an AI-assisted technology that can detect accidents, reckless driving, and overspeed vehicles.

“For IMPACT, sustainability is the cornerstone of our business. For HR, we focus heavily on 1) employees and 2) sustainability policy. We cannot deny that employees are a company’s best asset. Happy employees lead to increased employee engagement and productivity. They will be willing to stick with a company where values employee happiness as well as the health and safety of their people. They become a mentor for new hires, help the company promote positivity, and take new hires under their wing and provide them with knowledge, advice, and guidance on career development. “Kla MICE,” a long sustainable project debuted in 2019 to support the Thai hospitality and event industry by training college students and equipping them with the essential foundations of event management, provides young professionals equipped with industry-focused knowledge and expertise,” concluded HR director Thamita.
