Approaching 20th anniversary, IMPACT underlines commitment to supporting growth in Thailand’s MICE industry and tourism sector
Published : 2018-12-04
IMPACT, approaching its 20th year in business, emphasized its ability to provide diverse choices of venues with a comprehensive range of facilities and one-stop solutions. Starting from January next year, exhibition halls and facilities at IMPACT will be renamed to make it easier to remember. The company also continues to adopt technology in business like 360-degree views of function rooms and mobile application that facilitates the traffic and help users find parking spots. As part of “IMPACT Touching Heart Sharing Love” project, the company plans to donate 20 million baht to support the purchase of medical equipment and charitable organizations relating to nursing, education, and community wellbeing throughout 2019.
According to Mr. Paul Kanjanapas, Managing Director of IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd., the operator of IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center, known as IMPACT Muang Thong Thani, apart from being a MICE venue, IMPACT also provides one-stop service for business and incentive travelers with two international-standard hotels, tourist attractions, places of interests, retail shops, restaurants, and outlet stores of leading brands located in the same compound, offering a convenient one-stop destination for shopping, dining, and leisure.
Mr. Paul said “According to TCEB, Thailand's MICE industry, particularly the meeting and incentive sector, continues to show positive signs of growth. There is a strong 13% growth in MICE travelers during the first half of the fiscal year 2018 and a 5% increase in MICE revenue compared to the first half of previous year. By the end of this fiscal year, Thailand is estimated to welcome 1.37 million MICE travelers, generating 124 billion baht in revenue. With the given information, I’m confident that IMPACT is on the right track to providing versatile venues and a comprehensive range of facilities for MICE visitors who spend 3-4 times more than general tourists. So, they are considered a significant source of revenue for IMPACT. If they extend the length of their stay at our venue to 3-4 days and spend more, it can substantially increase our revenue.”
IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center, Muang Thong Thani was established in October 1999 by Bangkok Land Public Company Limited and managed by IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd. In 2014, the Center was acquired as underlying asset of IMPACT Growth REIT. The Center is regarded as the largest exhibition and convention center in Thailand and Southeast Asia with over 140,000 square meters of indoor space comprising four building, namely IMPACT Arena, IMPACT Challenger, IMPACT Exhibition Center, and IMPACT Forum, and 137,000 square meters of outdoor space.
IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center offers a comprehensive range of facilities, including two international-standard hotels - Novotel Bangkok IMPACT and ibis Bangkok IMPACT, IMPACT Sports Club, world-class go kart circuit “IMPACT Speed Park”, shopping venues – The Portal Lifestyle Complex, Cosmo Bazaar, and Outlet Square, parking buildings, and an array of restaurants. In addition, the MRT Pink Line that will stretch further to Muang Thong Thani is expected to commence operations in 2021. Starting from January 1, 2019, exhibition halls and facilities at the Center will be renamed to create better customer service experience as the new names will make it easier for visitors to remember. For IMPACT Arena, IMPACT Challenger 1, 2, and 3, their names remain unchanged. Meanwhile, IMPACT Forum will be called “IMPACT Forum Hall 4” and Exhibition and Convention Center Hall 1-8 will be renamed “Exhibition and Convention Center Hall 5-12.”
For utmost comfort and convenience of customers, IMPACT has adopted technology in accordance with the Thailand 4.0 era, enabling customers to access information about the Center anytime, anywhere on their mobile devices. Customers can stay connected with IMPACT through different social media channels or explore all 55 function rooms in 360 degrees on Google. There is also IMPACT Event Calendar mobile application that provides a list of events being held at the Center, directions to event venues, a feature to find public transportation, available parking spots, real-time traffic report, and special promotions and offers from participating shops and restaurants.
As part of its 20th anniversary celebration and “IMPACT Touching Heart Sharing Love” project, IMPACT plans to donate 20 million baht to support the purchase of medical equipment and charitable organizations relating to nursing, education, and community wellbeing throughout 2019. With its strong commitment to developing and providing facilities and services to support business growth and maintain its position as a one-stop MICE and tourist destination, IMPACT is confident that it will be able to secure the largest market share of 62% and the overall business in its 20th year will continue to grow and prosper. IMPACT is also committed to promoting sustainable growth of Thailand’s MICE industry and tourism sector.
