It is with our deepest sorrow that Bangkok Land Public Company Limited announce the passing of our Chairman and CEO, Khun Anant Kanjanapas at the age of 80 due to natural causes at Bangkok Nursing Home Hospital on Monday 13 April 2020. The family will arrange the funeral and the schedule will be announced later after the COVID 19 crisis is over.
Khun Anant was born in Thailand on 2 June 1941. He was the second child of Khun Mongkol Kanjanapas, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Switzerland. He was married to Khun Sophie and had two sons, Khun Peter Kanjanapas, Vice Chairman and Executive Director of Bangkok Land Public Company Limited. and Khun Paul Kanjanapas, Managing Director of IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd.
Khun Anant was the chairman of Bangkok Land PCL and the owner of Muang Thong Thani Project. He gained his reputation and become well-respected in Thailand’s real estate industry after the 1997 Asian Financial crisis. At that time, he helped his company strive and turned the business around in 2012 with financial liquidity and debt-free status. His company was also able to pay dividends to its shareholders for the first time in 15 years.
After that, Khun Anant and his two sons, Khun Peter and Khun Paul, worked together to expand their business in real estate and exhibition and convention center, “IMPACT Muang Thong Thani.” Now it has become No. 1 exhibition and convention complex in Thailand and the largest one in South East Asia. This has greatly highlighted the success of Bangkok Land. In addition, as the chairman of IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd., Khun Anant also got it listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand, and initiated the Real Estate Investment Trust in Thailand in 2013.
Under his leadership, he had always been kind, caring and generous to all staff. On behalf of Bangkok Land PCL and its subsidiaries as well as all the employees, we would like to express our sincere condolences for his passing and offer our heartfelt sympathy to the Kanjanapas family.
