IMPACT introduces COVID-19 assistance package for causal staff in the form of packed meals, aiming to ease the burden on staff and their families

Miss Jintana Phongpakdee, Director of Corporate Communications, IMPACT Exhibition Management Company Limited, has revealed that IMPACT is concerned about the welfare and living conditions of casual staff as the COVID-19 outbreak continues. Therefore, the company has introduced an assistance package for the causal staff in the form of packed meals. Casual staff will be provided with two meals a day (lunch and dinner), two boxes for each meal, starting today until the situation gets better. This effort aims to assist the causal staff and their families who may be going through a difficult time as IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center, Muang Thong Thani is now temporarily closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

IMPACT operates an exhibition and convention center, restaurants and catering service for both onsite and offsite functions and employs more than 100 casual staff to support these businesses daily. Since some of the facilities at IMPACT are temporarily closed, this means the casual staff are not currently working and may be experiencing loss of income that might impact their living conditions. Therefore, to help relieve their burden, IMPACT is providing meal boxes for the casual staff and their families.

IMPACT oversees the company’s 1,660 full-time employees, we introduced precautionary and preventive measures as advised by the Royal Thai Government to ensure the safety and wellbeing of employees. The measures include social distancing, exemption of fingerprint scanning for clocking in and out to enable employees to manage their own schedules. Some employees are even allowed to work from home. The company is also closely monitoring the situation with the COVID-19 outbreak and has asked employees to refrain from travelling between provinces or returning to their hometowns. Also, those travelling to high-risk areas would need to self-quarantine for 14 days to monitor their health for symptoms of COVID-19. Furthermore, face masks have been handed out to employees to reduce the risk of catching or spreading the virus.

Miss Jintana, “As for our full-time staff, our focus remains on their welfare, safety and wellbeing. They are still paid in full and enjoy their rights and privileges as usual. For casual staff, we are doing what we can to support them. We would like to extend encouragement to our staff and their families and wish everyone health and safety, and we hope the outbreak will end soon.”
