IMPACT allocates 195 million baht for Sky Entrance linking the metro train system while the extension to Muang Thong Thani is now 30% completed and expected to open by 2025

Mr. Paul Kanjanapas, Chief Executive Officer of Bangkok Land Public Company Limited (BLAND), the operator of IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center, Muang Thong Thani, unveiled that the MRT Pink Line Extension to Muang Thong Thani has progressed about 30%. The extension includes three phases of construction. The first phase runs from the Muang Thong Thani Station, near Makro wholesale store on Chaengwattana Road, to Muang Thong Thani. The second phase is the construction of the MT-01 station at the roundabout in front of IMPACT. The third phase is between the MT-01 station and the MT-02 station at Lakeside Muang Thong Thani. The overall construction is in line with the schedule and is expected to be completed by 2025.

Aside from construction of the two main stations, IMPACT has planned a Sky Entrance project to connect the MT-01 station (IMPACT Muang Thong Thani Station) to the IMPACT Challenger building. The IMPACT Growth Real Estate Investment Trust (IMPACT Growth REIT) has informed the Stock Exchange of Thailand of the Sky Entrance construction, and an MOU has been signed to support the 3-kilometer Pink Line Extension to Muang Thong Thani. The metro train project runs parallel to the Udon Ratthaya Expressway and stands right next to the IMPACT Challenger building. Its final stop is Lakeside Muang Thong Thani.

The Sky Entrance will cost 195 million baht in total. The project involves a skywalk and a lobby area next to the IMPACT Challenger building, connecting with the metro train station. The IMPACT Growth REIT is required to support this Sky Entrance construction, linking the MT-01 station and the IMPACT Challenger building, which is part of the main assets the trust has invested in. The project is expected to help drive business growth while providing customers with convenience. According to an official announcement, the main MRT Pink Line between Khae Rai and Min Buri is scheduled to start operating in November 2023. To accommodate customers and visitors, IMPACT will offer a shuttle bus service that runs from the Si Rat Station to IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center as an interim measure until the extension is ready.

Mr. Watchara Chanthrasopa , Head of Project Management of IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd., added that the Sky Entrance construction is led by the IMPACT team. The IMPACT Growth REIT budget covers the cost. The project, which is part of the ongoing Link Bridge construction around the IMPACT Muang Thong Thani complex, will connect the MT-01 station (IMPACT Muang Thong Thani Station) of the MRT Pink Line Extension to Muang Thong Thani, which is located at the roundabout in front of IMPACT, to the IMPACT Challenger building, covering a length of 230 meters in total. The construction also includes a lobby area that will connect to the IMPACT Challenger Hall 1. An external huge LED screen will be installed and visible when looking from the metro train and the expressway. In addition, a state-of-the-art screen will be provided inside the lobby.

The Sky Entrance’s design narrates a modernized exterior concept, with the unrivaled innovation revolving around sustainability, the environment, and energy. The 14-month construction is set to start in early 2024 and is expected to be completed concurrently with the MRT Pink Line Extension to Muang Thong Thani in March 2025. IMPACT's engineering team will strictly supervise the entire construction process, from reviewing contracts to coordinating with a construction company to manage impacts on the surrounding areas, such as traffic, scenery, convenience, and safety, until the project is completed and delivered around July 2025.
