Hong Kong Fisherman celebrates Chinese New Year 2023

“Hong Kong Fisherman”, the authentic Hong Kong-style Chinese restaurant spearheaded by “Chef Chow Tai Shing”, a highly skilled Hong native chef who has over 40 years of culinary experience, invites everyone to celebrate Chinese New Year 2023, the Year of the Rabbit which will fall on 22 January 2023, with a wide array of auspicious set menus, savory and sweet a la carte dishes and dim sum. The Chinese New Year options are available from 19 - 28 January 2023

The a la carte lineup features nine menu items, with prices ranging from 120 - 4,888 baht. (Prices are subject to 10% service charge and 7% VAT.) The first dish is “Hong Kong Style Yu Sheng-Rainbow Raw Salmon Salad”. After mixing all the ingredients with special sauce, diners must do a prosperity toss, also known as ‘Lo Hei’, which is believed to bring good luck and happiness throughout the year. The next dish, “Deluxe Abalone Poon Choi”, comprises premium ingredients including abalone which symbolizes an endless flow of fortune. Other must-try delicacies are “Braised Premium Fish Maw, Chinese Mushrooms and Seasonal Vegetables with Brown Sauce” and “Braised Dried Scallops, Chinese Mushrooms and Black Moss with Oyster Sauce”, a perfect combination of dried scallops, black moss and Chinese mushrooms cooked in the authentic Cantonese style. Dried scallops represent prosperity and wealth. There are also two recommended conch dishes including “Sautéed Hong Kong Kale, Conch and Prawns with XO Sauce”, premium quality conch sauteed with prawns, Hong Kong kale and XO sauce made with dried shrimps, garlic, and chili peppers, representing happiness and wealth, and “Sautéed Hong Kong Kale, Conch and Kurobuta Pork with Mala Sauce” that will add some spiciness to your meal. Hong Kong-style “Fried Prawns with Salt and Pepper” and “Wok-fried River Prawn, Ginger and Spring Onion with E-fu Noodles” are also not to be missed. Prawn represents happiness while E-fu noodles represents longevity. Finish off the meal with “Sweetened Red Bean Cream with Black Sesame Dumpling and Sago” that represents family unity.

What’s more, there are eight varieties of freshly made Hong Kong-style dim sum to choose from, with prices ranging from 90 - 380 baht. (Prices are subject to 10% service charge and 7% VAT.) Dim sum menu includes “Fresh Fish Maw and Seafood Dumplings with Superior Lobster Bisque”, “Steamed Shark’s Fin and Shrimp Dumpling with Caviar”, “Steamed Grouper Fillet, Pork and Shrimp Dumpling with XO Sauce”, “Steamed Quail Eggs, Pork and Shrimp Dumpling with Crab Meat”, “Steamed Pork Tongue, Pork and Shrimp Dumpling with Black Pepper Sauce”, “Steamed Black Moss, Shrimp and Pork Tongue Dumpling with Crispy Dried Scallop”, “Water Chestnut Spring Rolls” and “Always Happy Pie”.

For family gatherings, the restaurant offers two options of set menu which are perfect for 10 persons, with prices ranging from 12,888 – 15,888 baht. (Prices are subject to 10% service charge and 7% VAT.)

1. Set A (12,888 baht) features the signature “Hong Kong Style Yu Sheng-Rainbow Raw Salmon Salad”, “Premium Fish Maw and Seafood with Superior Lobster Bisque”, “Longan Wood Roasted Peking Duck” with crispy skin and unique smoky fragrance of longan wood, which is a symbol of prosperity, “Sautéed Hong Kong Kale, Conch and Prawns with XO Sauce”, “Braised Dried Scallop, Chinese Mushrooms and Black Moss with Oyster Sauce”, “Steamed Black Grouper with Superior Soya Sauce”, “Braised E-fu Noodles with Crab Meat”, “Sweetened Red Bean Cream with Black Sesame Dumpling and Sago” and free refills of “Chinese Tea” or “Chrysanthemum Tea” (hot/cold) as beverage of choice.

2. Set B (15,888 baht) consists of “Hong Kong Style Yu Sheng-Rainbow Raw Salmon Salad”, “Braised Shark’s Fin Soup with Crab Meat”, “Longan Wood Roasted Peking Duck”, “Sautéed Hong Kong Kale, Conch and Kurobuta Pork with Mala Sauce”, “Braised Premium Fish Maw, Chinese Mushrooms and Seasonal Vegetables with Brown Sauce”, “Steamed Black Grouper with Superior Soya Sauce”, “Wok-fried River Prawn, Ginger and Spring Onion with E-fu Noodles”, “Ginkgo Nuts and Longan with Peach Gum in Hot Syrup” and free refills of “Chinese Tea” or “Chrysanthemum Tea” (hot/cold) as beverage of choice.
