IMPACT joins the 3 leading Universities to organize ‘Kla MICE’ in order to accelerate MICE’s human resource development and plan to establish ‘MICE Academy’ with the aim to accept 300 interns within 5 years

IMPACT joins 3 leading Thai universities to organize ‘Kla MICE’ with the objective of enhancing and accelerating the development of MICE’s human resource for a greater potential in business operations in industrial sector as well as encouraging continuous income flow of the country. ‘Kla MICE’ project which IMPACT has collaborated with Exhibition and Evening Organizing Major of the Faculty of Management Science, Silpakorn University is the first university-level pilot project aiming to let students learn from performing real tasks in real locations allowing them to have an intensive hands-on experience of the overall business operation. Such opportunity will pave the way for them to improve the potentiality of professional MICE human resources. After this, IMPACT also planned to partner with another 2 universities, namely Kasetsart University and Sripatum University with the goal to establish ‘MICE Academy’ within 5 years as an important driving force to encourage revenue from MICE industry into Thailand.
Khun Tamita Jongsawasworakul, Human Resources Director of IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd. revealed that “IMPACT, as one of the leaders in the MICE market in Thailand, is well-experienced from more than 20 years working in this industry. Thus, is confident that the continuous growth of the business derives from having quality personnel. The survey from Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau or TCEB also estimated that Thailand will welcome 35.98 million MICE travelers in 2019 generating 221,000 million Baht in revenue. The number divided into 1,320,000 foreign MICE travelers generating 100,500 million Baht, and 34,662,000 domestic MICE travelers generating 121,000 million Baht of revenue. The estimation emphasizes the need for us to quickly concretize the policy and vision regarding the human resources development in order to support the growth rate of the industry which is an important aspect of Thailand’s MICE business in the future.”
On the ‘Ka MICE’ pilot project in which IMPACT has started collaborating with Silpakorn University, IMPACT has begun organizing workshops since November last year to select 40 second-year students to enter the internship during June-July 2019 for a total of 300-hour period. In the next phase, IMPACT plans to start working with 2 other universities which are Kasetsart University and Sripatum University with the aim to increase the number of students participating the training by 60-80 people with the intention to accept no less than 300 interns during this 5-year period. In addition, the project will be developed to become an educational institution in the meeting and exhibition organizing business called MICE Academy by 2025 to support the sustainable growth of the MICE industry.
Moreover, in order to establish the “IMPACT” brand image so that it will be known more among the labor market of the new generationม we have also organized Campus Roadshow activities in 9 universities across the country to correctly enrich the knowledge in MICE business since the current labor market is between 20-37 years old. The organization of roadshows also made IMPACT enter the country’s list of the top-3 companies which people would like to work in.
Khun Jintana Phongpakdee, Director of Corporate Communications, Department of IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd. said that “together with enhancing the development and selection of qualified staffs to work in the MICE business, IMPACT, at the same time, has also always been committed to the development of the MICE industry as per the government’s policies, such as the development for the MICE business to keep pace with the 4.0 era. In the past, IMPACT created the application called “IMPACT Event Calendar” using technology to help facilitate customers or those who would like to keep updated with events at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani.
IMPACT has also prepared an innovative development plan to support the growth of the MICE industry, such as holographic technology and virtual simulation technology called Move Around with Augmented Reality which will help facilitate the customers and the disables coming to IMPACT Muang Thong Thani. Both of these innovations were derived from the participation in the innovation competition or R2I (Routine to Innovation) in which the Office of Corporate Communications has consecutively won for 2 years in a row from the faculty teaching in the MICE field.”
